This is my pound puppy, Wallace.
He is named after Alfred Russell Wallace, the less famous
cofounder of evolution.
I adopted him from the Central PA Humane Society In August
1995. He was a mess: lice, coccida, roundworms, tapeworms and
both ears were infected...
His whole litter and the father was dropped at the pound,
but they were all adopted.
Above is Wallace getting a leg in obedience at the winter's
American Spaniel Club. He also placed (3rd). We finished in just
four shows (Novice A). The first show I was just a *little* nervous
and messed him up (sat up on the long down).

He has since finished his next level obedience title (Companion Dog
Excellent, CDX) and is having fun in agility!

The wiley Wallace stalks his prey (usually the dangerous tenny ball)
Despite his rough start, Wallace has grown
into a wonderful, loving dog surviving all my training mistakes.
He got his TD (Tracking Dog title) back in Nov. 1996.
Wallace, like lots of cockers, was very easy to train to track. After
all, he is sniffing the ground most of the time anyway! The photo
below is of us and the very nice tracking judges (casual dress requested).
Please consider adopting
a cocker! If you're looking for a pet, it can be a great decision.
I couldn't ask for a sweeter and friendlier dog.
